BIO:

Gilberto De La Riva was born in Zacatecas, Mexico where his soccer experience began. He started playing soccer at the age of 10 and made the All-Star team at the age of 12, where his team made it to the State Finals; winning the bronze medal. He continued playing through high school for a number of years, making it to the finals on two occasions.

Gilberto played soccer in Mexico until he moved to the United States at the age of 19, and continued playing in the San Fernando League at Balboa Park.

Gilberto has lived in Simi Valley since 1985, he has been involved in soccer for the past 9 years at the Simi Valley Youth Soccer Association and for Chivas Simi Valley, as an assistant coach for boys and girls in various teams ranging from U7 to U15. Gilberto currently holds an "E" license.
