It is with great sadness, that I must inform everyone of a terrible loss to the Chivas family. One of our most beloved member, Francisco (Pancho) Rodriguez was taken from us by cowards who shot and killed him in front of his home, on Wednesday, January 11th.

Pancho was my goal keeper for 3 years. He was a born leader and controlled the back line of the team. He was always encouraging the team to do better, and was loved by all of his Chivas brothers. It has been a privilege for all of us to know Pancho and his family.

I will share a story about Pancho and the type of person he was. Pancho came to Chivas for a team try-out 4 years ago. I was looking for a starting goal keeper. After the try-out, Pancho came up to me and said, "Coach, I know I did not do my best here today, I have not played in 2 years. If you give me a chance, I will do what it takes to be your starting keeper. I will work extra practices with Pepe(Club founder & Goal Keeper trainer), so I can be ready for the season. I am Chivas de corazon."

At that time, I instructed the coaching staff to support him in becoming the best goal keeper possible. When the season started, Pancho had grown to become a great goal keeper

I will miss you and think of you, Pancho, till the end of my days.
